Elementum
The Principles of God; The motion of Life.
Elementum: [el – uh – men’ – tum]
The principle thing, element; basic constituent. (Latin) One of four elements of which all things consist; fire, wind, water, earth.
Elementum meets each Sunday at 8:30 a.m. in the South Fellowship Hall. This ABC is led by Mitch and Michelle Dobson. Saved as a teenager, Mitch has been an active member of High School and College ministries. After marriage, the Dobson’s served as High School counselors before moving to Missoula, Montana, where they helped start a local church, which continues to thrive today. Mitch is a graduate of Shepherd’s School of Ministry and has served at First Bible Baptist Church for over 10 years.
Mitch’s teaching style includes honest communication, practical application, interaction and deduction; with a focus on the specific words of Scripture. Using a bi-weekly alternating schedule of topics, the lessons remain fresh and interesting. He strives to engage the class with different object lessons, small group interaction and other class participation.
Why the name “elementum”?
The Greeks believed that everything was composed of some combination of 4 basic elements (earth, wind, water and fire). These 4 elements align with spiritual priniciples of what is needed to have an effective ministry; earth (the Believer), wind (the Holy Spirit), water (the Word of God/Son of God) and fire (God the Father).
Previous Class Topics include:
- Book of Ephesians
- Book of Daniel
- Relationships in the Bible
- Anatomy of the Believer
- Myth of Separation of Church and State
- The “Little” Things
Plan on joining us this Sunday morning. See you at 8:30!
